These boots were made for walking..sort of

One picture is blurry because it was taken from my cell phone and she was moving but its the best image to show how tall the boots were. The kid loves shoes what can I say. I see a lot of shoe shopping in her future. The instant I got home before I even made it all the way through the door she was trying to get me to take my shoes off so she could wear them. She somehow managed to get these shoes on completely by herself and walked around in them for no less than 10 minutes before she finally took them off. She's at that perfect age for dress up. I'm thinking she could give Puss in Boots a run for his money:-)

Its happened

I think Kiara is officially hitting the terrible twos. Don't get me wrong shes a great kid but shes SUPER independent by nature, much more so than I was. At 2 shes really learning to express that Independence to the nth degree lol. Last night I was about to get her supper ready(she loves pasta pickups) and I got the pastas out of the pantry and was about to heat it up in the microwave when Kiara says to me, "I DO IT!". Kiara, I said, you can't microwave your own food. I'm sorry lol. You can eat it yourself, how's that? This little incident came right after she threw, what I think, was the biggest tantrum of her little life so far after I wouldn't spend the entire evening upstairs drawing on her aquadoodle lol. She got a time out, during which, I kid you not, she screamed until I thought she would be sick. Hopefully if I'm consistent she'll outgrow it but wow ..not looking forward to the teen years:-(

By the way, as a follow up to my previous post, Kiara took one look at her ballet classroom and turned around and went the other way so...yea..looks like we'll be waiting on that haha.

Wow, its been a loooong time lol Kiara's 2!!!!

recent picture of Kiara and I at the park on a super hot day:-)

Well Kiara had birthday party number 2 at Chuck E Cheese this year and I must say shes a little more shy then I realized. Chuck E was a little scary. The poor person in that costume..he walks into the room and Kiara and half a dozen other kids burst into tears lol. The rides were scary too but I did manage to get a cute picture of her looking terrified on one of them:-).

As some of you know one of Kiara's birthday presents was ballet lessons and today is Kiara's third ballet class. I can't say that its been wildly successful so far. She's, maybe, a little young for it but we'll try one more time before throwing in the tutu. She made a little friend last week that we are hoping will make her a little more interested in braving the classroom. I'll try to sign on tomorrow with an update of how that went:-)

In other news Kiara has, since the age of 13 months, had a problem with pulling her hair out that I think we might finally have under control. Basically it just took some amateur behavior therapy. We bought an oversized long-sleeved shirt and took it to a local taylor and had them sew the sleeves shut about 6 months ago. We have always had to have Kiara wear that at night and sometimes even on long car rides. She always pulled her hair out when she was confined in some way (in her highchair, in her carseat, and in her crib). The highchair issue we took car of by not putting her in the highchair early. We only put her in there when the food was ready and we could immediatly put it in front of her. When she is in the carseat we have portable dvd players that offer great distraction as well as "car toys" which are toys she only gets to play with in the car. In her crib is when we would typically use her "night night shirt". We haven't used that shirt in a couple of days and I have noticed no issues wooohoo!!
