Wow, Kiara's turning 1. A look at her first year

My little baby turns a year old tomorrow! Its hard to believe that that much time has gone by. As I sit here typing this I can't help but think about the nervous butterflys I was having around this time a year ago. It was hard to sleep. I couldn't believe that the very next day I would go in for my induction and come out of that hospital with a family of my own. Its been one of the best years of my life. I've loved every second of being her mom. Its still feels unreal. Here are some of the highlights.

One of the first words that Kiara said really well was Hi.

Now, we live in Texas and I personally have grown up in the south. You can hear a soft accent when I speak but nothing painfully overwhelming. Kiara on the other hand sounds like something out of The Beverly Hillbillies. Most of us nationwide say Hiyyy(with an e sound). Kiara says Hiiii, lol, and she seems to already be picking up that famous southern charm. Hi, for instance, is not only a greeting but a handy way to get out of trouble it seems. The other day she was pulling on a piece of weather stripping that she knows full well she's supposed to leave alone. When Nana(my mother) called her on it and told her no no! Kiara looks at mom with the most dazzling smile you ever saw and says in a little flirty southern drawl Hiiiiii...I keep forgetting to upload the newest pics but here's a great one:

The little Celebrity

The kid is a crowd pleaser, I have to say. My mom and I were out this evening at one of our favorite places, The Flying Fish. We had no less than 4 people approach us to say how sweet and cute kiara was and what a good eater she was lol...I'm bragging I know but indulge me;-) One nice lady crossed the room to say thank you to me for providing her with such cute entertainment:-) Kiara is finally at a point now where she is really loving table food and she had fish and fries and hushpuppies with the grown ups. I'm sure there are healthier meals out there but she loved every bite! From now on I'm going to try to provide some kind of picture with every post, a pic a day to help everyone near and far keep track of what the little squirt is up too...along with the rest of us of course!
